(-shrugs- Care to elaborate on 'aid'?)
Kayne shook as Alex transformed, eyes wide with fear. Zenobia looked from Kayne to Alex, and frowned. He was merely a teen. He didn't know anything at all. Kayne's ears lowered as the tears came again. "At least you have family!!" he sobbed. Zenobia placed a hand on Alex's shoulder, looking at the hybrid male. "Alex..." she said. As her eyes landed on the figure of the boy, a sudden hint of pity fell onto her shoulders. The vampriss pursed her lips. A lycan, was her natural enemy. Her prey. Her predator. Why was she feeling sympathy for the kid? She lifted her foot from Kayne's tail, unsure of what to do.

Alex crossed his arms and snorted. He could remember when he was a teen and scared of his Lycan half, afraid he was a freak. He had surpressed it as did his brother and father but as soon as Chainz got ahold of him, the Lycan part of him was the dog that chased after Chainz like a lost puppy. He looked down at Kayne. "Alright. Fine. Get up. Stop cowering." he told him. "You look pathetic. At least get yourself cleaned up." he told him.

Kayne made the transition from quadruped to human slowly, and wiped his runny nose on the back of his scarred wrist. Zenobia lifted her hand from Alex's shoulder, and crossed her arms. She felt uncomfortable, so close to a lycan. Alex was an acception in her books. He was half and half, but Kayne was a slightly different story. The vampriss looked down at the teenager. "So. Gabriel's been taking care of you?" she spoke quietly. "Yes..." Kayne nodded, tentively stumbling to his feet. "And, you've no idea how to be a lycan." "No..." "Are you even aware that Gabriel is a fallen angel?" "Mhm." "Did you know fallen angels and lycans are enemies?" "Mhm." "You did." "Yeah..." "So, why did you stay with him?" "He's helping me..." "With what?! Gabriel knows just as much as you do about being a lycan! Less, even!" "So?" Kayne was beginning to feel very irritated by Zenobia's constant harrassing questions. "He's become my friend..."

Alex was thoughful through this entire exchange. "A fallen angel and a lycan...friends...hmm...interesting..." he said. "You know, my father and him were "friends" once." he told Zenobia absently. "Apparently, he watched our birth..."

"Oh.....really?" Kayne questioned quietly, now beginning to feel more comfortable near these two. He was still skeptical about Zen, but Alex....Alex seemed all right. Zenobia glared at the teen, catching the uneased glance that he gave her. The kid looked down. "I'm sorry for interrupting your evening..." he murmured. "I was just trying to get away from Benj." "I can relate to your mishap with Benj." Zenobia said, staring off into the forest, away from the two males. "I had acquainted myself with Gabriel as well. He was mine at one point. Benj grew jealous, I guess.... Benj's the one who turned me. He wanted to make sure Gabriel and I couldn't be together..." Kayne swallowed. "Oh..." "I promised myself that I'd never weaken for anyone again." she said, crossing her arms and squaring her jaw.

Alex glanced at the teen as he spoke and then turned his attention back to Zenobia. He frowned when she spoke. When his father had met Gabriel, he had been dating some other woman. Another vampire. Apparently, Gabriel got around. He turned his attention back to the teen and frowned. "Well, we won't kill you or hurt you in anyway but you can't be here." he told him. "If someone sees us talking to you, we'll have no choice but to act. Or they will. If you need something, just tell us then be on your way." Rude? yes. To the point? yes. Friendly? no.

Kayne moved forward to Alex, grabbing the older male's shirt before pitifully shaking and snivelling again. This time, however, the boy wasn't afraid. He nodded his head. "Thank you..." he said between muffled splutters. Zenobia rolled her eyes, annoyed with how the teen had to be so dramatic. "Okay. No need to make a scene...." she scowled.

Alex looked taken aback and pried his hands off of him. "Don't touch me." he growled, stepping away from him. "Now be gone with you before I send guards after you!" he said, eyes flashing.

Kayne backed away, looking almost creastfallen at the rejection, but nodded. With the sudden change of air he transformed to lycan form and dropped to all fours. The teen looked from Zenobia, to Alex, then with another look at the two, he ran off into the deep forests. Zenobia shook her head. "That boy's in for a load of trouble if he's walking around with Gabriel..." she muttered, not caring if Alex heard or not. The vampriss stood there, looking at the ground with her arms still crossed.

He looked over at her, a look of agreement on his face but it instantly changed and his face became sour as he sniffed his shirt. "I need to get Lycan stench off of me before someone sees me..." he growled. He turned to her. "Care to join me?" he asked, thinking that a good meal would be one way to calm himself down as well as get rid of the scent of Kayne.

The woman looked up to Alex, watching him sniff his shirt for a moment before her eyes wandered to the ground. When he asked his question, instantly her gaze snapped up to his face. Zenobia gave a sketchy shrug. "Sure...Why not." she said, a small smile almost breaking through. The vampriss looked about, listening to the forest. Nothing but the dissapearing sounds of Kayne's repetitive padsteps.

He grinned. "Glad I can have someone to talk to!" he said. "Where shall we go?" he asked, stuffing his hands into his pockets as he gave her friendly smile.
((Blah... Sorry... I don't know where we are going with them. I was just kinda going along for the ride. Sorry!))

"Well, now." Zenobia laughed lightly. "Whatever happened to the serious man that was just standing here two minutes ago?" She gave a small chuckle, but forced a straight face and stepped back almost unnoticably. "You need to go wash that scent off of you. No need to have everyone else hounding on you because of a snivelling orphan claiming he doesn't know how to be a lycan..." the female said.

He grinned, giving her a teasing look. "What to join me there to?" he teased her, his black eyes twinkling. "As for my serious half, I had to show that boy who was boss!" he said, acting all macho.

"Ahhh." Zenobia smirked, raising a fine brow. The vampriss looked away for a moment, before smiling. Something about being around Alex now just wanted to make her smile. She gave another light laugh as he made the appearance of acting tough. The female covered her mouth with a few fingers, as if she was embarressed about laughing. "Well..." she said, still smiling. "I guess I could accompany you." Zen said.

He quirked a brow, as though he was wondering why his luck was so good but then quickly grinned, holding out his arm to her. "Have you ever been to the royal bath house?" he asked her. "The soap they give you is so soft on your skin it's like being bathed in silk." he told her. He looked down at her with an amused smile. "Sorry. I don't mean to bore you. You are the first person I can talk to like this." he told her.

Zenobia looked up at him. "No... No I've never been to the Royal bath house." she said. She glanced at his arm, and almost nervously took it. Her hold was quite loose on his arm. She didn't look completely relaxed with him. Still, his eyes made her nervous. "But, there's always a first time for everything..."

He nodded, eyes on the garden as they approched it. At this time of night, fireflies hovered around the flowers and pathways, lighting it up in a soft light. It was a perfect evening for a romantic evening but Alex's thoughts were faraway. It had been awhile since he had ever talked to anyone like this. It felt strange. He had made his first friend and he was already flirting with her. A soft blush crept into his face and he looked down at her with a guilty look. "Look, Zenobia. I'm sorry. I don't mean to be like this. You don't have to come if you don't want to..." he said, stopping in the middle of the path and looking at her, letting his arm drop. "It's just so hard to talk to anyone. I have been dormant for years. I've forgotten how to talk to civilized people."

Zenobia looked up to the man, mainly focusing on the bridge of his nose so that she appeared to be looking into the onyx orbs that were his eyes. "Alex." she said, shaking her head. "You're making more sense to me than anyone else has at the coven." The vampriss blinked down to her parasol, which was still in her hand. "Besides....Everyone needs to talk to someone once in a while. You're probably the only one here that I am reasonably close to..." her mind flickered to Benj, but she let the thought pass by. She wasn't close to him. Benj wasn't who she had once thought he was.

He seemed taken aback. "You actually...like me?" he asked. "I mean, I never had someone who actually stopped to listen to me..." he told her. he smiled at her. "You're not repulsed by what's happened to me? Seeing as how I'm an uncontrolable beast..." he said, looking away from her so she didn't look at his eyes.

Zenobia shook her head. "I'm not repulsed." she whispered. The vampriss bit her lip. "Alex. My theory is this: To fear love is to fear life, and those who fear life are already three parts dead..." Her grey eyes wandered up to his face once more. Just as much as she was uneased, Zenobia was still curious. The woman held her gaze there, watching him carefully.

He turned his gaze back to her, this time, his eyes were curious, this time he was exploring the emotions that tumbled through his head. "This is all new to me..." he said with a hesitant laugh. "I'm glad there's someone here who knows what they're doing." he chuckled. He glanced down at the package in her arms and back to her face. "What's that?" he asked her.

((By any chance, do you mean her parasol?))
Zenobia offered yet another small smile for him, and she felt...Well...she didn't know what she felt. The vampriss chuckled lightly. "Well...There are many signifigant changes since my last relation." she said, attempting to make a positive comment. As he questioned, she looked down. "Oh, my parasol?" Zen said, holding it up and propping it open. She held it with loose fingers, tilting it to the side so that it didn't cast a shadow on her.

((Haha OH! OK!!! haha I feel stupid...))
He laughed, a loud musical laugh that he hadn't used in a while. He rubbed the back of his neck in embarressment. "Wow, you can definatly tell I don't socilize much..." he told her with a small smile. "Please forgive my incompitance..." he said, giving her a small bow.

((Don't feel bad. XD Some people I talk to don't know what a parasol is. ^^))
Zenobia laughed again, folding her parasol up again. "You're not incompitant." giggled the vampriss. Again, she bit her lip. It was as if she had been agitated by her own laugh, but she shook her head. The woman continued to smile while he was bowed.

"Why don't I take you to my chambers for some drinks while I get a shower then we can sit and talk awhile." he told her as he looked around the garden, expecting, any moment, for someone to walk by that he didn't need to see. "That is, if you had other businees to attend to...?" he asked her, raising a brow.

Zenobia nodded. "Of course." she said. The vampriss looked out into the thick vegitation, frowning. She knew that it wouldn't be long out here before someone came looking for them, or at least Master Alex. Zen turned back to him, offering a reassuring smile. "The sooner we leave the open, the better chances we have of not being spotted." she whispered as if she didn't want the trees around them to hear.

He nodded and held out his arm for her once more. As they walked, he contemplated. "Can you tell me about yourself?" he asked. Then he looked down at her with an embarressed look. "Excuse my rudeness. I didn't mean to ask such a personal question..." he told her.
