 One. Only one. That was all it took to raise this magnificent temple from the ground. Covered in a white marble it stands, a fortress immune from the threats of war. Those whom reside there, fall under the command of an angel. Her grace over-coming the hurt of strangers, the threat of pain, and the hurt of the innocent. Her calm eyes enough to cleanse the darkest of souls. Inside the magnificent temple lays walls of white that shimmer in the sun light, darkness to never befall in the sacred place. Benches of white stone, prayer rooms for those in need. Here, all of the injured find healing, the lost are found, and the homeless sheltered. The water that runs behind the stone fences is pure, and sacred. Those whom bath here are cleansed and healed. The awesome powers of the unknown brought into an angel of souls. Her gentle steps could scarcely be heard as the angel, more commonly known as a soul stealer, moved peacefully throughout her beloved temple. Bound here by her gifts, she protects it and all in it. Doing all she could to keep it pure, and those in it pure, she would do all she could to protect the spirits she guides. Her hair flowing behind her the young woman moved gracefully, her hair moving gently, sending tiny ripples down her loose dress. Her angelic face had a tiny glow upon as she moved down the long corridor. People came for miles just to find refuge. Any race was allowed. IT didnt matter to her, you became a child of the unknown as soon as you entered, and like a mother, she protected you with her life. Those whom had locked souls, or lost souls would come to find answers, or to see beyond. Her power allowed her many things, one of the greatest to bring souls of the lost back for friends and family, but not for long. |

The doors closed softly behind her. The angel emerged outside, her eyes easily adjusting to the light. Her eyes fell upon the gates as shadows surrounded it, but never entered. They never would. She walked gently foward to the large gates that opened to allow guests. Her finger tips barely kissed the surface before she jerked back gently. looking at her tips, she saw the burning red and the tiny drop of blood. Shadows...She couldnt touch them...They were evil.
Two angelic-like wings seemed to form around her back, forming two, large, clear wings. Rare no? Her tail flicked earnestly as her ears twitched. In a split second, she was in the air, moving elegantly. She knew her wings never lasted long. When her angel spirit took over this form, it limited her ability..Her past..No one would ever know..Her feet barely skimmed across th top of the thin cross at the roof of the tallest building. They evaporated back into thin air again as she gained balance.
On the tips of her toes, arms outstretched, the wind blew gently along her dress as it flowed gently to the right. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes, taking in the world and any lost spirit. It was quite a sight, and a rare one as a tiny light seemed to fall from the heavens upon her light figure.

"So... What do you think?" Leaning his scythe against his shoulder, Nikolai found it no problem to carry the large weapon. His calm clue eyes were trained on the structure, ignoring the angel above. Of course, any dolt could tell that the place was guarded by more then just a person... It was too magnificent to be left to the care of a simple minded human...
"Probably has something to eat in there." A wide grin on his face, Nick's brother, Vladimir, held his spear in a battle stance, ready to try and break the gate down in two. Ignoring the people that gather on the side, wishing for entry, he started to run at the metal bars, but stopped as Nick intercepted his path. Taking a step back, he smirked. "What? I'm only thinking about our well being, brother..."
With a heavy sigh, Nick prepared to lecture Vlad, and not for the first time. "One can't simply go barging into a sacred area... Not to mention that this is a place of peace, and there is the welfare of others to consider." Gesturing with his free hand to Crissy, he frowned. "If anything, I bet she's the care taker here..."
Following his brother's finger up to the angel, he smirked and raised a brow. "So what? We can take her easy..." He just didn't seem to understand that there was more at stake then just their hunger, here. But, that was Vlad for you. Hot headed and always rushing into things...

Her eyes moved downward gently and fell upon the two brothers, with a light smile, and a gently lunge, she fell, falling downwards at an amazing speed and grace. Just before she was about to hit the ground, the wind seemed to sweep her up gracefully, flipping her gently, and allowing her to land on her foot tips gently. Her hand fell down to her side as she made her wya to the gate.
Her eyes rested Nick. His soul was tainted, but he bore no darkness upon her sacred temple. They moved swiftly to Vlad, his soul tainted worse than his brothers..He was far from pure, however, it wasnt like her to turn away another. Her hand moved swiftly and the gates opened, her having no need to touch it.
She stepped foward, gesturing for them to enter, along with a few other weary travelers. Most of them knew where to go, and exchanged thankful bows with the angel. Her eyes fell upon th ebrothers again. "Welcome to the temple of the pure." She said smoothly, er voice flowing gently. "You must be Vlad and Nick.." She said gently. The spirits around her seemed to flee, well, some of them. They did not wish to see their killers..These two..were something, however, she owuld welcome them with open arms."I am Crissy, Mistress of the Temple. IF you nything, please do not hesitate to let me know. Follow me to your rooms, which will hold hot food, purification baths, and fresh beds, not to mention a person Prayer booth for yourselves." All of those were neccesities in everyroom, walking throughout the Temple would reveal all of its other wonders.

Before Vladimir could inquire how she knew their names, Nikolai cleared his throat and scanned Crissy's features. There was a sense of familiarity about her... Or to be more exact, around her... No doubt this place was a haven for lost souls as well. And no doubt some of those souls had been stripped of their bodies by himself and his brother. "All we require is food and drink... We shan't be staying long, I'm afraid..."
Ignoring the fact that Nick cut him off, Vladimir grinned, also sensing the presence of people he had slain. "A place for the living, and the dead, it would seem..." A soft chuckle escaped his throat, followed by a smirk. "Perhaps we should accept her offer and stay for a while, Nikolai..." However, the 'purification' baths would be something the fire elemental would stay far away from...

Crissy gave him a gentle bow and nodded, however, her gaze shifted to his brother in mid bow. Straigtening up, she nodded. "Yes, this is, and it would do you well to not disturb my souls." her voice held its gentleness, but had a hint of sterness as her eyes flashed coldly, before warming up again. She didnt joke when it came to her souls. They were what she was guarding, why she was created, why she was sent here, they were her.
"Your rooms will have your names carved into the golden plaques on the wall before you rreach them. You have conjoining rooms, as we do with all family members. You are welcome to stay as long as you wish. Once you leave, your rooms will remain, and forever be here for you. None will enter without your conesnt." She nodded breifly again.
Turning gently, she walked towards the large white doors, her hand resting gently upon them. Her eyes glanced over her shoulder at Vlad...He seemed..Interesting..

Understanding fully the implications that were carried by Crissy’s words, Vlad frowned before allowing his spear to disappear. His brother did the same as they began to follow her. Able to move a little more freely now, he looked up in the air, ignoring Crissy’s inquisitive looks. He was busy wondering where her souls were, and if they remembered what he had done to them… Far be it from Vladimir to let them forget how they died…
Simply nodding in response to Crissy, Nikolai followed her without question. His lips turned to a slight frown as he guessed his brother’s current task, and he just chose ignored Vladimir for the time being. “Rumors have it that war is coming to these lands, Crissy… What do you make of them?” They could just be rumors after all, but Nick would be damned if he and Vlad would be caught flat footed...

She held the doors opened gently for the two before giving Vlad a slight frown...I he upset her souls..He would regret it..and just like they would never forget their death, he would never forget her.
her eyes softened as she looked at Nikolia. "The war is already upon these lands, yet they will not breach these walls, that I can assure you. Those who come with vile intentions- Her gaze shifted to Vlad."will be dealt with appropriatly." Her voice stern as she spoke..The war being a sore subject..It meant more deaths...Which upset her..

A little agitated by Crissy’s accusing gestures, Vlad put his hands behind his head as he walked, pretending that he wasn’t really listening. However, he couldn’t help but join in at the talk of war. Unlike the angel before him, he loved charging into the fray. “Heh… The way I see it, war helps keep the population down… Besides, if the big man upstairs,” Referring to God probably wasn’t the best thing to do, but Vlad never gave his words much thought. “really cared, there wouldn’t be any fighting, right?”
Glaring at Vladimir for his impudence, Nick sighed. “Enough, Vladimir… I will not have another potential safe haven turn us away because of your foolish remarks…” His sinister look was enough to make Vlad turn away in anger, but the ice elemental noted with relief that his counter part said nothing.

Crissy's eyes burned with a hidden rage that hardly ever showed. "Excuse me? You know s*** about Him, Got it?" Her voice burned as she spoke. Clearing her throat, she gave him a cold look before turning to Nikolia. "I wiot turn you two away, I never could, but you would do well to reign in you impudent friend." Turning away, she pointed down a hall. "your rooms are that way, follow Amanda-" The tiny girl bowed gently to them before turning to walk/"To them." The moved swiftly down the hall, entering into the large chapel.
Walking up to the front, she gently bowed before a mirror, and closed her eyes, purifying her soul silently..Soon she would be off to her chambers for a bath. With these new guests..The thought crossed her mind whether or not to lock the doors into her bathing room..But she decided against it. If needed, her servants wouldnt be able to get to her..

Crissy’s anger surprised Vladimir, who wasn’t aware that an angel would even think about swearing… Especially in a holy place. Glaring off to the side, he smirked and followed Amanda, muttering to himself. “Whatever…” He had half the mind to bring his spear back, but thought against it. His stomach still needed to be filled, so there was no sense in fighting on an empty tank.
With another simple nod, Nick followed the girl as well. He had already forgotten about his brother’s outburst, having been used to living with him for so long. “I assume you wish to stay for the fight, yes? Well in any case, I would not like to linger here for too long. After you’ve had your fun, and I know you will, Vladimir, we leave this place…”

Bartimeaus stared past the gates at the retreating forms of Vlad, Crissy and Nick. He gave a slight frown as his wolf sences alerted him that this place was extremly holy. In his gut, he knew he shouldn't be here. He was far from pure. He was born in a killing society who killed to live. That had been how he was raised. And the wolf pack who had helped him...No, he mustn't think of them. He growled and stayed his human form. No need to turn into some animal.
He watched Crissy walk away once more, her graceful movements, her soft words... That was something he wasn't used to. Women had never been that soft where he had come from. Die hard criminals, half of them whores. To think back at his old life was like looking back at another world compaired to here.
He stepped away from the gates and contemplated leaping over them but though better aganist. If this place was so holy, then it was protected aganist evil and he would defintaly pass as an "evil" character, though his intentions were pure, his past soul was not.

after redeeming herself, the angel scwoled..pissed that she had allowed herself to degrading means..Lowering herself to his level..how barbaric of her...Rising gently, she exited the building, heading to her bathing room.
She entered gently, the water steaming, ready for her, as usual. A few candles held the light as hey flickered across the white marble walls around her and upon the floor. Her Kimono slipped of and fell to the floor around her ankles.
She slipped into the bath gently, the steam felt good around her body as a gentle sigh escaped her lips before she slid down into the gentle marble tub.

Pausing as he sensed a dark aura outside, Vladimir smirked and allowed his spear to reform in his hands. “I’ll be right back…” Yes! The chance to burn off some steam, and to get the blood flowing again… Ignoring any calls of warning from his brother, the fire elemental headed for the exit, and once outside, stared curiously at Jack. There was something odd about the man, he knew. But he couldn’t quite place what it was…

Her eyes shot open as she felt his presence..And Vlads moving towards him. the spirits were all talking at once. She rushed from the tub, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around her body as she ran outside towards them both. "Vlad, if you even try to do a damn thing to him..." She yelled as her eyes burned..She would not have any fighting done on these grounds....And not with anyone she allowed into her home. Her back slammed against the fence, ignoring the burning it caused the bare parts of her back, like her shoulders, s her skind touched the shadows around the gate. Her arms were outstretched as her towel help itself up carefully..She prayed the wind didnt move.
There she stood in between them, wincing in pain as her eyes glared at Vlad. her hair dripped slightly as her face remained angelic..Though had hints of anger and pain.

A little lost at her sudden appearance, Vladimir just raised a brow and smirked, seeing her obvious weakness… “So hasty to make an accusation, Crissy… I have yet to even mention my presence outside…” It was pretty clear she knew what he was going to do, but Vlad played innocent, knowing that she hadn’t caught him doing anything wrong… Yet… "Just going to loosen up a few muscles, that's all... A little romp amongst mortals never harmed anyone..." Well... After his little 'romps,' the earth was usually scorched black, with nothing other then ashes to give testimony to his actions.

Her glaring eyes didnt lighten a bit as she looked at him. "Do I look like a fool to you?" She snarled..Though it was a retorical question...The wind blew a bit more and she prayed her towel would hold up if only until she could secure it...but her hands were a bit tied up at the moment as darkness seemed to wrap around them..She would be able to hold on against the fence much longer..But she knew as soon as she moved her towel would fall..Dammit...
"I wont Turn you away from here Vlad..but dont puch your lucks..Im not stupid..Ive been around plenty of people like you, and I am fully aware of your past.."

Letting out a chuckle at her predicament, Vladimir smiled calmly, his spear fading away. “Oh, are you… And who told you that? The souls, I presume…” Chuckling once more, he walked over to the gate and easily jumped over it. “Relax, it’s not like I’m going on a bloody rampage or something…” Although that would be nice right now… “Besides, I’m sure if a few unfortunate people get in my way, they’ll find refuge with you here…”

A snarl escaped her lips as he lept over the fence. She pulled one hand away free, and grabbed her towel before leaning of the gate, ending up on hr knee's, shivering in pain as she gritted her teeth. She uttered a silent prayer and waved her hand gently, the gates opened, allowing Bartimeous to enter, closing behind him slowly as she put her hand back on the groun dto stableize herself. Her back was still on fire to her, though it only had scars from the fence...They would be gone eventually..In a few days maybe..
She may be an angel..But she was not in her angelic body, so she had a human heart and mind, just an angelic soul to guide it. "Bastard.." she uttered quietly as she stared at the ground, her pupils wide in pain.

Bartimeaus glared at Vlad as he walked by. What was with that guy? he had seen the whole thing, and, as soon as the gates opened, he rushed to Crissy's side and put a hand on her arm, as though to help her up. "Are you alright?" he glared after Vlad. "That bastard didn't even stop to see if you were okay!" he growled, his eyes turning wolven before flicking back to human. He knew, as soon as he transformed, he'd be after that guy, elemental or not.
He turned back to her. "here, let me help you up and back to your rooms." he said softly.

Watching the two from the entranceway, Nikolai stood silent as he scrutinized the newcomer. Wolven eyes? Yet he was more then that… Needless to say, the ice elemental was a little more then curious about Jack, but said nothing. His footsteps carried him around the pair, and towards the gate as he spoke softly. “My apologies, I’m sure you of all people understand why he is like that, Crissy… And, as thanks for the shelter, I will watch over Vladimir and keep him out of trouble…”

Crissy pulled herself to her feet, and gently brushed Bartimeaus's hands off. "Thankyou, really, but please, do not touch me, its not healthy for an earhtly being to do so, not with an angel.." Her voice shuttered as she spoke, struggling to keep her balance. She made her way to the gate, and stood in Nikolia's way, but was carefult not to touch the gate. She held her towel tightly as she looked at him with soft eyes. "Please, bring him back, do not leave..I need him to stay...He needs to stay..More for himself..You may not nderstand, but you will...Do not make me hunt for you, please.." She said gently, her voice fading into a whisper as her strenght left her and she crumpled to her knee's again.

Bartimeaus allowed her to brush him off, after all, she was female and an angel, but, when she collapsed again, he walked over to her and hoisted her to her feet. "I've had worse happen to me. Believe me. Now, come on. I don't mind a little unhealthiness. You need to lay down."
He looked over at Nikoli. "If you need any help, I'm just a call away..." he told him with a friendly smile as he attempted to help Crissy indoors.

A little confused at her words, he was about to speak, but once more, she fell to her knees… Forming hands using the water in the air, he had them catch her before she hit the ground. Nick recalled her warning to Jack and so thought it to be the more prudent of choices… “Don’t fret. I’ll bring him back…” Allowing Jack to take her from there, he simply nodded at his words before jumping over the fence and after his brother.

"Please, Bartimeaus, Your condemming yourself to damnation, and beleive me or not, your soul is not yet dammed..." She struggled with her words, but steadied herself. She turned around to face Nikolai, her eyes pleading him.

Alas, his back was already turned to Crissy as he walked calmly after his brother. Nikolai was not surprised that he had to go get his counter part, again… He had done it so much in the past, it became somewhat of a routine for him. Due to his rash nature, Vladimir was easy to predict, and Nick used his past experiences to get a better understanding of what his brother was about to, and act accordingly.

Bartimeaus sighed and let go of her arm. "Well, then walk. I don't want you collapsing on me again..." he told her, sounding like a mother scolding her children. "Can you walk back towards the temple?"

She took a deep breath and gave him an apolagetic smile. She nodded and beckoned for him to follow. "There is a room already ready fpr you. It had food, a warm bath, a bed, etc." she said gently to him.

Her gaze was calm as she stood, her dizziness gone. "I told you, I will be fine. You must never touch the skin of an angel. Please, follow me to you room, i am terribly sorry for any inconvenience I brought to you." She said kindly, her voice calm and collected as she began to head back to the doors into the temple, Vlad's image burning in her mind.
