It had been but a day since the horrible occurances that had taken place on her wedding day.. And still, she had heard nothing, from anyone- granted it had teken her a good portion of the night to return home. She didn't know what had become of anyone. Not of her newly wed husband, or adopted daughter, dear friends Jacob, Syrenia, Chrissy or Alyssa. Pain clutched her heart. she was a bloody body-guard to begin with; and she'd failed- miserably at protecting anyone.
Collapsing in the front hallway, a beautiful golden haired, bronze eyed female lay, mascara laden eyes wet with tears. Her long, classic ivory gown was mangled, and dusted with flecks of blood and dirt. Such a beautiful disaster. Trembling, she lifted herself from the ground, using the little strength she still possessed.
"Lemartes? Nikkie?" Tears flooded into her eyes. "Oh god please... p-please.." She breathed un-steadily and furrowed her brows before again, dropping against the polished floor. "Lemartes... oh please.. oh please......" She cried softly, bringing her hands to cover her heart.

It wasn't until the next evening, in the moon lit night, did her lover return home. The watchmen on the wall began shouting at each other as they scurried to carry out their new orders. Some went to the controls for the massive front gates, while others dashed inside. Off in the distance, a large figure glittered faintly in the moon's incandescent rays, slowly moving closer towards them. As time carried on, it became clear that a white scaled dragon was the culprit. Why it didn't just fly the rest of the distance was a mystery, but it soon became apparent that the creature was hurt. Dark splotches stained its hide, and its gait was strained.
Every now and then its head would snake around to check on something on its back, occasionally rubbing against a cloaked person, seemingly asleep. Stopping in front of the castle gates, the dragon's weary eyes turned upwards to the guards. Someone shouted out to identify himself, at which point the scaled beast simply smiled at. It wasn't long until its form slowly shrank and changed, eventually turning into a human sitting down.
Staring up at the guards with a friendly smile, Lemartes forced out a reply despite his ghastly appearance. "Surely, Captain Lysander, you do not expect me to sleep out in the wild for another night...?" Clutched in his arms was the girl he had sworn to raise as his own, asleep and at rest. Still retaining injuries from his duel with Larkin, the shifter quickly turned his head to the side as blood forced its way up in the form of a cough. Eyes turned a soft gaze to the young girl in his grip, and he gasped under another strained smile. "We're home.. Everything.. will be.. alright, now.."
Vision going blurry, his head finally drooped as he succombed to exhaustion and blood loss. More shouts echoed through the night as the gates groaned under the stress of opening.
((Yayz for happy endings))

Alura sat with a vacant, yet pained expression dancing in her deep bronze eyes, while tightly clutching her hands together. In the past day, she'd sent out an innumerable amount of shifters, praying that someone, would bring home her love and child. Pulling her knees to her chest, she looked around the empty bedroom and blinked as her lower lip began to quiver. She squeezed ehr eyes together, forcing back tears and swallowed hard, before moving off of the bed, and toward the balcony. She had barely moved from it's perch from the moment she had returned home, watching the horizon for them- and what she saw now, brought tears, agian to her eyes. "Lemartes! Nikkie!" The exclaimation rang out, before she leapt from the balcony, transforming into a silver winged falcon, and soaring odow to teh ground before returning to ehr human state and sprinting toward the gate, shaking hands pulling on it as it open. When the barrier had been set aside, she ran through and wrapped ehr arms around the two. (Though careful, not to harm.)

Eyes fluttering open as he was gently hugged, Lemartes turned to see his wife. He smiled and lightly brushed the back of his hand against her cheek, voice soft. “Forgive me, dear.. I’ve become late..haven’t I?” Wincing as pain coursed through his body again, he let his head rest against his beloved’s body. “Are you okay, Alura..?” They had gotten separated during the fight, and cursed himself for letting it happen. He knew not what became of his lycan friends, but he prayed that they returned to their homes safe and sound as well.
As servants rushed to their side, he raised a hand to stop them from helping him up. “Nikkie.. Please, take care of her first.” Allowing them to take the girl from his arms, he sighed, resting against Alura. “Sorry to cause you worry.. I had a hard time getting back..” Arms slowly wrapping around his wife, he forced another smile. “But.. if we got through that, everything else from now on should be a cake walk, huh? Heh..”

Her eyes filled with tears as he gently brushed her cheek with his hand, the soft endearing gesture struck her heart. How could she? How could she have let this happen to him? She'd spent years protecting him, and now, when he'd needed her, she'd failed him. A frown creased her brow and a few tears released themselves from her eyes as she gently took his hand in hers. "You bloody well have.." She smiled softly, her voice wavering; though her old sense of humor underlined each vowel. "I'm fine... I'm fine now." She gently stroked his cheek with her thumb and kissed his brow.
When the servants took Nikkie, to assist with her injuries, Alura furrowed her brow and bit her lower lip. She hadn't been there... not when either of them needed her. She had been a gaurd first- this was unacceptable. A soft hint of anger flashed briefly in her eyes before being smothered with concern, and love. "...You scared the living daylights out of me!" tears flooded into her eyes. "damnit, I'd thought I'd lost you-- and Nikkie, and... I should have protected you two... I've failed you, oh I'm sorry...." She cradled his head in her trembling arms. "...Lemartes;" She let out a trembling breath.

Lemartes chuckled softly at her reply. He was glad that she could still lightly joke around at a time like this. He did not want her becoming over stressed or worrying to much about the situation. Slowly looking up at her as she ‘scolded’ him before crying, the shifter merely offered her a smile. “Alura. You are not my bodyguard anymore, you are my wife. As your husband it would be irresponsible of me to let you or Nikkie get hurt if I can do something about it. I’m happy that you escaped safely, and it’s about time that I, start looking after you, for a change.”
Eyes giving the surrounding servants an irritated gaze, Lemartes initially said nothing to their requests of him getting medical attention. He wanted Nikkie to get as much help as possible, and it wasn’t as if he was on the verge of death. But he was quite tired at the moment. Breaths coming out in long quiet cycles, Lemartes smiled weakly. “I think I’ll be sleeping in late, tomorrow, if that’s alright with you, Love..”
