She'd been told that the courtyard was beautiful, and had not been lied to. It was absolutely stunning, even with snow covering the foliage. White marble benches stood above the frozen wonderland, contrasting against the dark, bare brances of the lining trees.
Shifint her weight from one delicate paw to the other, Aurora sighed. She'd never been a fighter, and truly felt horrid for what they had done to the poor Lycans whom had held the throne for so long. Blinking her oceanic eyes to rid them of tears, the new Alphess settled herself upon the nearest bench, and stared blankly at the frozen fountains, musing about how the ice seemed to be tears frozen upon the faces of the stone wolves. Guilt cut through her like a knife, and she wrapped her arms around herself with a soft whimper. How had she become so malevolent? This was not her. She was no leader, though her blood may have been royal- the desire, the passion to rule had not once touched ehr soul. She simply wanted to live harmoniously with her surroundings. That'd gone well.
Running a hand though her thick ebony hair, the Alphess sighed heavily and closed her tear laden eyes before mumbling something under her breath and sighing tiredly.

A black shadow moved like death among the mist covering the courtyard. It flashed like a quivering shadow from a candle, never remaining in one place for more than a moment. A low echo ripped through the tree's, sending a wave of air through the top, ruffling dead leaves.
Finally, the shadows topped moving. A black wolf stood a few long yards away from Aurora, black fur glistening menacingly, teeth bared, eyes deadly angry. Hackled were raised as the wolf locked it's legs, refusing to move forward, at least not at that moment.
The wolf was petite, but rough looking. It was as if someone had taken a rake to the wolf's side, ripping open the flesh along it's ribs and the left side of it's face. Further examination showed a female.. Katirna. The angry stance and bold auburn eyes gave her away.
Just underneath her eyes, the fur was madded. She had been crying, in all three of her forms. She had taken her own claws to her face, belly, and side's. She had gnawed on her own legs... This form was the only the had the energy to take... The only one she would recuperate, and possibly the only one she would ever be able to retain.. The extent of her damaged were overwhelming. Her grief and anger had been her own poison.

Aurora's elegant and exquisite face froze at the sight of Katrina. Knowing not of her lineage, the sight of a Lycan in such shape brought a coppery bloody taste into the back of her throat, utter disgust. What had happened to the child?
Shifting into her own wolf form, the ebony alpha stood, mirroring the dissarray that was once the princess Katrina. Flicking her ears back, the beautiful raven pelted wolf whimpered. "Dear child, what happened to you?" Her question was one of genuine concern, and expression laden with unsurlyness. What had happened? A surprise attack?
Taking a very cautious step foreward, Aurora blinked, before howling a low, eerily beautiful not to summon her mate. It was a song of worry, urgency and concern.

Katrina's growl ripped through the still air. "You retched bitch... Don't act so concerned.. This is what you wanted.. This is what you asked for.... Your mate mate sure of that, now didn't he?" she snarled.
Her eyes bore into the woman, who seemed slightly ruffled herself. Concern coursed out from her aura towards Katrina, and it enraged her. "Go ahead..Call him.. Bring that wretched beast to me.. so I can rip out both of your throats.." She growled, her eyes never wavering.
"Stop moving.. Come any closer, and I swear I'll hang your hide in my room, bitch.." she growled.

"Katrina." She simply stated, knowingly. "Your mother's death was unnessicary, and I offer you my deepest condolences.." She shifted with un-ease, a large, yet stunning raven pelted lycan standing before her. "I don't know if this is ever what I wanted..." She murmured, taking a step back from the raging female before her, a look of deep sadness upon her face.
She blinked a few times, her bold blue eyes filled with an unsurly regret. They had destroyed the Lycan resistance.

Katrina growled again. "Your right.. It was unneccesary.. But not according to you and your mate.. " she cried out, her eyes filling with tears.
"What of her mate?" Said a sultry male voice, disgust brimming along the edges of his flat tone. His eyes went from Katrina to his wife, who regret written on her face. This angered him. "My dear Aurora.. Your regretting what, exactly? And what was it you wanted? Have I not given you everything you've asked? You now hold the Alpha position... I gave it to you for your pleasure.. For you to bend and twist what you wished.. " He said flatly, his eyes filled with intense anger. His arms flexed as he folded them sharply, his hands in fists..

He regretted what he did everyday of his waking hours. It even crept into his dreams, her screams of agony, the raw taste of flesh in his mouth. He washed his mouth out with alcohol everyday and stilld couldn't get rid of the taste of her blood. He kept his distance from her, afraid she'd hate him forever. That would break his heart if she ever uttered the words to him. So he had followed her from afar. Now, of course, he silently watched, just in case things got sticky. He'd always be there for her. No matter what he thought of her.

Aurora frowned at Katrina, feeling her own heart wrench at the sight of the girl's tears. She had lost her family, long ago- and could remember the intense pain it had brought upon her; Knowing that she had inflicted this upon the heiress made her feel sick. She blinked down and sighed shakily before nearly jumping at Aaron's voice.
"No.... Aaron- I..." She looked down before blinking misty eyes. "This is wrong. We shouldn't be here." She ventured, deep blue eyes filled with sadness. Her wolf brows shifted as she looked away sadly. "Syrenia commited no treason- and we knew it..." She whispered, taking a cautionary step back from her mate. "You have given me all I asked- and, I thank-you, my love... But- I do not want this. I do not wish to manipulate; to harm people. To break families!" She gestured to Katrina, her eyes now filled with tears as her beautiful, siren like voice wrang. "...What have we become?"

The sound echoed through the still courtyard as skin met skin. The back of Aaron's hand had collided with Aurora's face. At the sight of him, Katrina had vanished, seeking out the familiar odor that stalked her.
Aaron's eyes were blazing as he grabbed his mates shoulder violently, jerking her close to his face. "If I do so recall, it was you that decided we should come. It was you that discovered what had happened among the lycans..." He whispered, his voice laced with a lurking anger. The metal nail on his finger traced along her cheek delicately as he held her.

The scent of Katrina shifted and Ahren just about fell out the tree. He was in his werewolf form for once. The moon high above him was a full moon. He wouln't change back into a human until the morning. He was so jealous of the Lycan breed that roamed these walls. They could transform at will. Oh no. He didn't get that luxury. He had to transform when the moon was full. He had been bitten as a child and by a regular werewolf. Not a Lycan. It was that curse that had made him attack Katrina. It had been the only to stop her attacking her sister; an innocent girl who meant nothing by trying to save their father. Nothing to Katrina at least.
He quickly climbed down the tree and sat at it's base. Hoping she'd loose the scent and go back to what she was doing. He couldn't bare for her to attack him and break his heart. He had chased Katrina ever since he had gotten here. Loved her at first sight and finally, they were just beginning to get along when....that happened. He shook his head. He didn't want to think about it. Not now. Not ever.
