Light filtered through the large bay of the queen's personal quarters, illuminating the room with golden rays. Medical supplies were placed strategicly around the bed, where a massive black lycan lay.
Two days. Alura had not slept, nor eaten in three days. Having her faith in the light forces all but obliterated with the loss of Syrenia, she had trusted no-one in Jake's recovery, thus had barricaded the doors to her quarters, and not let ANYONE enter.
She had kept Jake sedated heavily, sleeping while she checked for chips, poisons or anything amiss while tending to his wounds, which had been inflicted by the poker cues. And now, seeing that she'd healed him fully found that taking out the sedatives was hardert han she thought. What if she removed the drug, and he managed to be captured again?
Her mind flashed back to the image of him skewered on the pool table. Her heart gave a tight squeeze. Never again. She vowed, standing and turning off the machine administiring the sleeping drug.
Moving fluidly to the other side fo the room, she donned her warrior apparel and sheathed her swords, daggers and bow. Not only did she intend to kill Raven, but any other dark warrior who dared step in her way. a dark, malicious expression found its way onto the shiftress' flawless face. She'd make them pay for what they had done to Jaccob. And she'd take out the new Lycan alphas. A life for a life.
She moved to the window and unlatched the lock before taking a deep breath and shaking her head. How could she not tell Lemartes? She sighed and sat, leaning against the window-door, peering out at her balcony. A deal was a deal... A life for a life. She bit her lower lip and turned her bronze eyes skyward before sighing ehavily and hanging her head. How quickly she'd folded to their demands.
