Winter, the coldest time of the year, during which a wonderful white sheet is placed over the land, causing it to glitter brilliantly in the cold light. Beautiful in its own way. Oh, how Tashawna hated it. Her chestnut eyes gazed with longing out of one of the palace windows, pondering about how long this freezing weather would last. It was during this time that she was the weakest, unless she bloomed some plants herself. But that would take more energy, and the plants would die much too quickly. At least Seraphina was happy, currently flying about in the icy skies. But her joy had no effect. And, as this was the case, Tashawna was now indoors, looking on the sparkling grounds below from a corridor, one palm trailing down the glass. She wore an ivory gown, the soft material beginning with a heart-shaped neckline. The sleeves were short, hugging her shoulders gently. The skirt fell to the floor, full slips beneath it giving it a larger, ballroom appearance. A deep blue cloak seperated at the skirt, the hood baggy to allow both her thin face and honey-blonde hair to be seen. Her palm left the window, skin now cold to the touch, and wandered to her neck, fingers wrapping protectively around the vulnerable area. Oh, when would this dreadfully beautiful season be over?

Cholie walked through her home, glancing around her at the bustle and activity of the war preperations. Her normally happy glittering eyes were dull, deadened by the pain she felt at the thought of the upcoming war. Why did the immortal races insist upon killing, maiming, harming each other in such a sensless fashion...

Tashawna pulled her eyes from the window as Sera began to flutter into her view, as a pair of footsteps were nearing her. Down the hall, the padding of feet continued, soon revealed as the Queen herself. Shawna pulled a smile from within her, as the woman looked very sad indeed. "Good day, m'lady," she greeted, smoothly reaching over and opening the latch on the window, allowing Sera to flutter to her shoulder. "Are you alright? Or are you too waiting for this weather to be over?" she asked with a small sigh, relatching the window and turning her back against the wall. The little bird chirped musically, shaking snow from her feathers. "I for one can not wait for the season to move to spring.. I feel almost powerless as it is now," she continued, now talking to herself more than she was speaking to her Queen. Her eyes, glazed over, moved back into focus as she glanced at Chloie again, offering another weak smile.
