The moon's rays beat down on the cool waters, the silver hue of the light making the usually terquoise waters 'glow'. The bay was charming during the day; but this cool spring evening made it... unimaginably perfect. The trees sway in the breeze, their leaves singing softly as they touched one another, a chorus of natures finest. Sitting on the white sands, a beautiful chestnut haired woman sat, the waves lapping at her bare feet. Turning her piercing blue eyes to the star strewn sky, she uttered a small laugh, amused by how... alone she was at the moment. It seemed riddiculous to be spending such an evening alone. However, that was what it had come to... Resting her hands on her denim short-shorts she blinked, wondering silently why she'd worn the out-fit she had. It wasn't very practical for night... her shorts and a pale terquoise bikini top... Though it did show-off her flat stomach and long legs, she found ehrself annoyed with the wardrobe selection. "Whatever." SHe muttered before looking at the moon, admiring it's pale glow. "It's not asif someone is going to wonder the bay now anyway."

A peaceful night indeed... Even the water seemed to just relax, gently creeping onto the beach before pulling away a few seconds later. Smiling lightly at the liquid beneath his feet, the youth shook his head and sighed. Calm, serene, yet undeniably powerful. That's what he had to be. Bold, resolute, and unforgiving to those who underestimated him... A terrible burden to bear at times. Staring at his reflection as he walked along the water's surface, Nikolai bit his lower lip.
He knew what he had to do. And he wasn't looking forward to it, either. Dressed in his usual attire, he held his scythe in one hand, letting the object hang by his side. It was rare for him to smile now a days, but with what was ahead for him, he didn't really want to smile. Of course though, like his element, he'd go through the motions, no matter how much he didn't want to, or how senseless the tasked seemed... "Tch... Just go with the flow..." Chuckling softly at the joke, he tried to force a smile, but failed.

The female blinked up at the male and raised ehr brows before hurriedly getting to her feet. Why the hell was he carrying a scythe? Her eyes narrowed some-what before she took a cautious step backward. "...Hi?" Her voice was soft, carried on the night wind as she stod, her hands in her pockets.

If one was keen enough to notice, Nick was walking on the water's surface, his feet barely even wet. "Hm..?" Taking a look at the girl, he paused. Had he been that lost in his own thoughts again..? Pity... "Oh... Hi..." Following her gaze to his scythe, he frowned and made it disappear. "..Sorry, didn't mean to spook you or anythin..."

She shook her head and shrugged, as if to tell him she didn't mind. "You're a water elemental aren't you?" She asked, watching his feet on the water. It was a gift for water elementals to walk on water, and most found it quite amusing. She, rather than have practiced that trait in particular had become well versed in breathing beneath the surface. "You certainly look it." She laughed softly and shrugged before closing her eyes and sighing contentedly.

He nodded. "Quite the observant one, I see..." Studying her expression, body language and aura, he paused. "You're another elemental. Might I ask what you're doing out here so late..? Not to mention that it's a far walk to either elemental territory..." He didn't see much of his kind in general out in the human world.. They seemed to like staying in their own section of the world these days.

She smiled and laughed softly. "It is intreiguing isn't it?" She smiled softly and shook her head. "I could be asking you the same." She blinked before extending her hand. "Excuse my bad manners. I, am Aurora. A Water elemental, who finds it much more soothing to evade other.... 'magical beings' in times of war." She laughed softly at the introduction and shrugged before blinking at him, her saphire eyes inquisitive. "And you?"

"My home is far from these lands." Right off the back, he kept his guard up. Her words alone seemed to hold a sense of foreboding, but he shook her hand anyways. "Nikolai... Friends call me Nick. You might have heard of me and my brother before." He wouldn't be surprised if she had heard of him, it wouldn't be the first time a stranger knew something about him and Vladimir.

She blinked at him and shrugged. "Sorry, haven't ever heard of you." She blinked out at the churning waters and sighed softly. "I imagine you have quite the histories here then?" She smiled to herself and put her hands in her pockets before shaking her head snd biting her lower lip amusedly. "Your brother, he's an elemental as well?" She blinked at him and laughed softly. "Judging by your expression, I'd say that you weren't expecting my response." She shook her head. "I don't know much really, I'm currently avoiding everyone, as I have told you." She sighed and sat back down on the white sand beach, smiling at the moon-struck waters. "Your home is far from here..." She raised a brow and nodded. "Then you must tell me of this grand and far away place." She smiled at him. "I haven't been away from this... land. What is it like away from here?"

He was indeed surprised that she hadn't heard of him, but her explanation did clear up the matter quickly enough. As she sat down, he turned to face the sea, his expression blank. "..yeah, he's a fire elemental... And we managed to make quite the history here. At least for us, anyways." At her question, he just shrugged. "It's nice, without the threat of a war breaking out... Like everyone's forgotten about what makes us different, and the sensation of greed and lust... It's something that I miss quite dearly."

She cast a some-what surprised look at him before nodding. It wasn't odd for water elementals to be quite serenic. Actually, it was a basic discripion... Water, calm; Fire, er... Not calm. She smiled and sighed before nodding and cupping her chin with a hand, thoughtfully. "By the tone of your voice, Is it safe to conclude that your 'history' is because of a.. not so friendly occurence?" She asked, almost innocently, her lips curved in an amused smile.

Nick nodded slowly at her comment. "That assumption would be correct." She seemed to be enjoying prying into his troubles, but talking about things usually helped him so he let it slide. "War has never been kind to my family... It took away our parents, and now it would seem that my brother is gone as well. The irony of it all..? All I have left is the fighting..."

The elemental sighed and frowned, truly the boy had been through much heart-ache. She shifted and blinked at him, her blue eyes shimmering with inquisition. "I am sorry to hear about all of your losses." She shook her head and blinked at the churning waters before smiling thoughtfully. "You would have more that fighting if you let others in you know." She stated, brushing sand off of her knees and shrugging slowly.

With a heavy sigh, Nikolai frowned at her suggestion. "I see no reason to. There is nothing left for me here. After my business is complete in these lands, I'll probably move on. And besides, I'm sure you're aware that water hates to stand idle. Nothing good can come from a stagnant pond, it'll only be corrupted and filthed up." The real reason he kept to himself? He was tired of the losses already. His current melancholy was heavy enough to carry, why add on more?

She blinked up at him and sighed softly before replying in a soft tone "But isn't isolated water just as bad? To flow only within itself?" She folded her arms and blinked at the sky, her blue eyes clouded with thoughts. Perhaps she should move on. But why leave such a beautiful land? Even if war would soon come... She could always assist her race... Shaking her head she groaned and ran a hand through ehr hair before biting her lower lip.

"Not to change the subject, or belittle you, but aren't you yourself just 'isolated water'..? You seem like you enjoy the peace and solitude, but is that what you really want..? It is true, there are a lot of bad people here, but there are good ones, too." His thoughts drifted to the fallen angel, Ally, but then he dismissed the subject. If the rumors going around were true, he had little enthusiasm for going to the Cove. "If you're willing to get hurt, or quite possibly worse, then perhaps you'll find something worth fighting for in this, feth awful mess..." His use of a curse word from his own lands only emphasized his discontent for staying.

Aurora smiled at him and raised her brows. "Isolated waters?" SHe smiled and shook her head while standing. "I am everything but. You see, I can be as kind as mists, or as cruel as the ocean's un-predictable tides. But, being so deeply tied to water, this is only natural." She laughed and shook her head, blinking at the male who stood infront of her, amusement dancing in her eyes. Oh, if he only truly knew her. She smiled thoughtfully and blinked at the sky before closing her eyes and sighing. "Worth fighting for?" She smiled and shook ehr head. "I have found many things that are worth fighting for." She blinked now at the churning water. "What you truly have to ask, is are you ready to kill many people, who are fighting for a cause that is not there own?" She frowned and lifted her hands as a soft rain began to dapple her bronzed skin. "You know, I'm surprised that you'd bend so easily to the tidings of war... When water is truly the strongest of all the elements... We can douce fire, Drown earth and are unphased by the air." She frowned before shifting and shrugging tiredly.

"For a cause not their own..? If that's the case, best let them fade away into the annals of time, then. They don't deserve to be recorded, or remembered. Their weakness is their enemies' strenth. A fighter should be driven by spirit, not force. If they don't want to defend their beliefs, then I say good riddance..." He knew he was being harsh, but his view on the world wasn't very optimistic now a days. He smirked at her descriptions and sighed. Douse fire... He frowned at that part, not really liking it too much. "It is true. Water is a powerful element... But there are no exceptions to anything." If he had to become 'isolated water,' flowing on his own, until he was too tired to any more, then so be it. He would become that putrid, stagnant, filth of liquid to release his brother from this world's cruel grip.

Aurora turned to him, her eyes dark and intense. "Good riddance?" HEr voice quivvered with anger. "You would see people go to their deaths for something that shouls involve none?" It was amazing how severely she had changed in only a matter of moments. "Why is it with men everything is about fighting?" She asked, voice some-what louder than it had been, though still as beautiful.

"Reality is harsh," Speaking in a calm tone, he looked out to the sea. "if people will not stand for their own ideals, they are just taking up space. And besides, it is not the fighting that I want. Quite the contrary. I want it all to end. One way or another. And since peace cannot be obtained in a non-violent way, there will only be fighting. For a very, very, long time." Running a hand through his hair, he sighed. "Perhaps I am wrong, but then again, the right thing to do, is just a matter of perception. If you were raised in believing that killing others wasn't a bad thing, no one can blame you if you feel no remorse for murdering another. It's all so complicated, yet so simple... The question I put out to you, then, is what will you do when the fighting reaches your doorstep, and you can no longer avoid it..?"

Aurora smiled, almost amusedly. "When it comes to my door?" She raised a brow and laughed softly, shaking her head and sitting. "I will leave." She smiled thoughtfully. "There is always a place to go to, always." She closed her eyes and sighed softly.

"Tch, you mean to run away to..." Turning away from her, he sighed. He thought this was a waste of time, but it was nice for a little bit to get away from everything. "You care nothing for the lives of those in this battle, just leave, then, one less person to save or kill..."

Her eyes flickered, a brief annoyance dappling their aqua depths, only for a brief fraction of time. "But if they were all to leave there would be no one to save or kill would there?" She asked, her tone becomming slightly more-- heated. "You look at me as if I am a coward, but answer me this; Can you call yourself anything better when you are stealing lives each time you raise your scythe?" Her voice dripped with venom as she turned back to the pristine waters. Her expression changed from vexed to calm as she watched the waters, lapping rythmicly against the shore. "But, why is murder the currency of the world?" She asked, bitterly. "When people crave something, they band together- they say to fight and save, to protect and defend-- to smite their enemy. But why must death be the resolve?" Sheturned ehr gaze back to him, a brow raised. She sighed and shook ehr head, looking away and closing her eyes, exasperated. She looked at him and rolled her eyes before folding ehr arms over her stomach.

Sitting down on the sands, he rested his scythe back against his shoulder, staring out at the sea. "Stealing lives..? You misunderstand me. That is not my intent. I simply release their trapped spirit. If they don't want to fight, why are they on the battlefield..? Pride? Duty..? Honor....? Then far be it from me to let them down if that's the case..." No longer did Nikolai's eyes portray the peaceful, fun loving person he used to be. There was only a mask of apathy staring back. However, life started to return to his face as he chuckled softly to himself. It slowly grew in volume, but tapered off after a an amused snicker. Staring up at her with a light yet devious smile, he raised a brow. "If death is not the answer, then why has nature intended for all things to die...? If there is something you and I have in common, other then our heritage, it is our fate. And that is to die..."
